Korrae sat on the bed as she watched Ashton move around. They had been back at the house for about half an hour, and they hadnât said much to each other. Other than making sure the other was okay. She had told him she was. There was no reason for her not to be, considering she wasnât the one that he been in any real danger.
She would have to admit that she was anxious the entire time and worried. More so for Maleiha than she had been for Nyela, though she had been slightly worried for the latter mentioned woman as well.
On the ride home, she had studied Ashton. He had gone into the building and taken on several of the men that had been in there to help get the two women out. From what she could see, he seemed alright. However, she was sure that he was hurt. Even if it was only slightly, he had been favoring his left side.
Getting up from the bed, she made her way behind him. Korrae wrapped her arms around his waist, and she heard him grunt slightly as she laid her head on his back. His hand came up to unwrap hers, and he turned to face her. He pulled her to him gently and leaned down and pecked her on the lips.
âYou okay, Vixen?
âI told you. Iâm fine.â She pulled away from him and grabbed the hem of his shirt. âBut I know you arenât. So, let me see.â
She had half expected him to object, but instead, he raised his arms above his head. Wincing slightly as he did so.
Korrae slowly began to take his shirt off. Standing onto her tiptoes to take it all the way off. She dropped it to the floor. Her eyes transfixing on the darkening bruise on his left side.
She reached out, her hand stalling momentarily before gently running her fingertips over the bruise. It was dark, an ugly shade of purple, and she was sure it would only get darker. He also had another one on the right, directly below his pectoral.
Leaning in, Korrae placed a gentle kiss to it.
âIâm going to go fill up the bathtub.â She told him.
She turned and headed into the en suite. Korrae started filling the tub, wondering if she should add some bubbles, but decided against it. She simply just turned the hot faucet on and decided to add some essential oils to the water.
As it continued to fill, she left the bathroom and headed back into the bedroom. She found Ashton looking through one of his dresser drawers.
âWhat are you looking for?â
âNot looking. Putting my watch away.â
She nodded at him. âCome on.â
Korrae turned and made her way back into the bathroom. When Ashton made it over to her, she began to remove the rest of his clothing slowly.
As she took him in, her eyes running over his body, she couldnât help but bite her lip. He was a sight to behold. She had always known a man could be beautiful but honestly had not seen one until sheâd laid eyes on Ashton.
